Tu BiShvat β 15th of Echad Asar, 5785 - the New Year of the Trees
Tu BiShvat: The New Year of the Trees and Its Significance for Pesach & Leyatzev πΏπ³β¨
Today marks Tu BiShvat, the New Year of the Treesβa reminder that the cycle of YHVHβs creation moves in perfect order. As the trees awaken and bear their first signs of life, we gain insight into the timing of the true New Year for mankind.
If the trees are ready early, it signals an early Rishon (First Month). When the lambs are also ready, we know Pesach is near. And if all aligns perfectly, there is no need for Leyatzevβthe additional thirteenth month to realign the calendar.
Nature testifies to YHVHβs appointed times. Just as the trees bear their fruit in season, may we also be found ready in His perfect timing! π±ππ
"He has made all matters beautiful in its time." β Qoheleth (Ecclesiastes) 3:11
DO WE NEED LEYATZEV THIS YEAR?
Despite snow on the Hermon mountains, the trees in Yisrael - especially the almond trees - are already blooming, which is a major sign that spring is approaching. If the natural cycle continues as expected, lambs should be born in about two months, just in time for Pesach in Rishon 5786.
Since both the trees and the lambs are key indicators of the timing for the biblical New Year, this strongly suggests that Leyatzev (the 13th month) will not be needed this year. Everything is aligning for an early start to the year! πΏπβ¨
