🔥 CHAMISHI 26, 6027 AA 🔥 - Cleansed in the Desert: The Bronze Serpent
As Yisrael journeyed through the wilderness, many complained against YHVH and Moshe. In response, fiery serpents came among them, bringing death. Yet in His mercy, YHVH also provided a way of cleansing and healing: the bronze serpent lifted up on a pole. Whoever looked upon it in faith was healed and restored.
“And Moshe made a bronze serpent, and put it upon a pole, and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he looked upon the bronze serpent, he lived.” — Bemidbar (Numbers) 21:9
This moment in the desert was both judgment and mercy. The serpents revealed the sin of grumbling hearts, but the bronze serpent revealed YHVH’s power to cleanse and restore.
Yahusha later declared that this event pointed to Him:
"Just as Moshe lifted the serpent in the wilderness, so the Son of Man would be lifted up, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life." - Yochanan 3:14–15.
The desert cleansing was not just physical healing but a shadow of the greater salvation to come.
