π₯ Revi’i 12, 6027 AA π₯ – When the Well Dries Up: Will You Strike or Speak?
Scripture Focus:
“Take the rod… and speak to the rock before their eyes, and it will yield its water…” — Bemidbar 20:8
There are moments in the wilderness when the well dries up. The familiar place that once flowed with water now looks like just another rock. The people are restless. Your soul is weary. Your calling feels thankless. The staff in your hand feels heavier than the promise in your heart.
This is where YHVH refines the hidden places. Because the test is no longer about provision — it’s about your posture. Will you strike out in frustration, or speak in faith?
Refinement Comes at the Rock
Twice in the wilderness, Moshe faced a rock with a thirsty people. The first time, he was told to strike. The second time, he was told to speak. He failed the second test. And for that, he never entered the Land.
The lesson? YHVH doesn’t just want obedience — He wants mature obedience. What passed before won’t pass now. As you grow, so do His expectations.
The Dry Place Tests Your Flow
Will you lash out when your expectations aren’t met? Or will you trust YHVH enough to speak what He says — even when your emotions want to swing the rod?
This is refinement. When the well dries up, your response reveals whether the wilderness has made you a shepherd… or left you a slave to frustration.
Call to Action:
- Pause in moments of pressure — don’t default to old patterns.
- Speak only what YHVH says — not what the crowd demands.
- Lay down the staff of reaction, and pick up the word of faith.
π STUDY SECTION:
Explore these passages to understand how refinement unfolds when water runs dry:
- Shemot (Exodus) 17:1–7 – Water from the rock at Horeb: strike and trust
- Bemidbar (Numbers) 20:1–13 – The second rock and Moshe's failure to speak
- Tehillim (Psalms) 95:7–11 – The warning not to harden your heart in the testing place
- Yeshayahu (Isaiah) 48:9–11 – “I have refined you, but not as silver…”
- 1 Corinthians 10:1–6 – The rock that followed them, and the lessons not to repeat
REMINDERS:
- The same rock can yield water — or judgment — depending on how you respond.
- YHVH is refining not just your walk, but your way of responding to pressure.
- Don’t strike what you were called to speak to. Let the wilderness mature you.
- REMEMBER TO CHECK YOUR ARMOUR DAILY!
